Alumni

Greetings to all of our Alumni!

A message from The Department

Dear alumni and friends:

On behalf of the faculty and students in the Department of Psychological Science at UNC Charlotte, I am proud to send you the second issue of Psych! This newsletter has been specifically designed for you by our current students. We hope that you find it interesting and helpful.

As you know, the Department of Psychological Science works to advance the science of psychology through high quality research, teaching, and service. At the undergraduate level, we have more than 1,100 majors and 500 minors. Did you know that every semester, over 15% of all undergraduates at UNC Charlotte take at least one psychology class? At the graduate level, we have over 130 students working on a certificate in cognitive science or a Masters degree in psychology and/or industrial and organizational psychology. Many of our faculty also work with doctoral students in the Health Psychology and Organizational Science programs. As you can tell, we are very busy!

This last fall was a tough time for our department, as one of our amazing faculty members, Dr. Jeannine Skinner, was taken from us. Our faculty and students were devastated at her loss. There is a brief article in the newsletter about her and what she meant to all of us.

I hope that you enjoy this edition of the newsletter and that it helps you feel connected with us. We always love to hear from our alumni so we can celebrate their accomplishments. Please feel free to reach out and let us know how you are doing. You can reach us at psychology@charlotte.edu.

Regards,
Psychological Science
