Industrial/Organizational Psychology

The objective of UNC Charlotte’s nationally recognized master’s degree program in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to improve the world of work from both an employee and organizational point of view. The program and its curriculum are built on five key foundational elements: Leadership, Organizational Change and Development, Talent, Culture/Climate, and Analytics.

Our I/O Psychology master’s program is designed as an evening and weekend program to accommodate working professionals. As such, most of our students do not engage in traditional research while here. Rather, they tend to have an applied focus which is consistent with our goal of training I/O scientist-practitioners.

We admit new cohorts in the fall of even years. New classes will be accepted for Fall 2020, Fall 2022, etc.

PLEASE NOTE: This program only accepts new students in even years, so please apply for a fall term with an even year (i.e. fall 2020). You may start applying for the Fall 2020 term as of April 15th, 2019.

Although you will see a Fall 2019 term in the selection menu, only currently enrolled Ph.D. Organizational Science applicants may select an odd year to apply to the program. If you try to apply for admission for an odd year (e.g., fall 2019) your application will be denied, as that application term is only for currently enrolled Ph.D. Organizational Science students.
